Nathan Keowen is a writer and documentary filmmaker dedicated to stories that blend the heartfelt and silly. His work, including On Goat Farming and High Sierras, captures unique characters with humor and humanity.
A lover of adventure and the outdoors, Nathan has filmed across diverse landscapes, from a Washington goat farm to the Yosemite backcountry, and all along the rugged Pacific Coast. His passion for turning everyday moments into cinematic experiences drives his creative vision.
Nathan graduated summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University with dual degrees in Film Production and Screenwriting, as well as a minor in Film Studies. While at LMU, he founded the campus Film Club, hosting dozens of screenings and fostering a vibrant film-loving community.
His accolades include the James Wong Award for Best Picture for his student thesis film Spaceman and the Best Documentary Short award from the Sacramento International Film Festival for On Goat Farming. Currently, Nathan is pursuing new documentary projects and developing the comedy-adventure screenplay Lodestar Lightning, an epic treasure hunt set in 1976.
